Snow Adventure

The weekend before last we borrowed some tire tubes from Greg's friends and decided to go find some snow and go tubing. We got the kids and ourselves all bundled up. We stopped at a gas station near our home that has free air and aired up the tubes before we got out of town. We drove towards Idaho City just looking for a good hill. We found one that was pefect and someone before us had paved the way. Greg and I headed up the hill each of us with a kid and a tube. I wore my "cute" boots and found very quickly it was nearly impossible to get up the hill because I had no traction. After rolling down the hill twice, once with each kid I gave up and grabbed my camera to take pictures of the the kids. Greg decided he wanted to go down the hill from super high up. He yelled down to me to move the kids but I told him they were out of the way and to go ahead if he came near them I would just kick him out of their path. Haha LOL I laugh about that now because when he came down the hill flying at high speeds he was right in the path of the kids - headed straight towards them. I realized at the speed he was going I was not going to be able to kick him out of the way and he realized it too. He bailed out of the tube and his body just went flying. It knocked the wind out of him but he avoided a collision with the twins. The twins were crying because they were scared and I was scared too but Greg is tough and after he got his breath back we kept playing in the snow.  Eventually he made stairs in the snow up the hill for me and I was able to take the kids up and slide down a few times.  We had a lot of fun!

Holiday Catch Up.

I am so behind on posting this but the Holidays are a busy time for us. We have my birthday on the 21st, then Christmas, New Years and then Greg's birthday on the 3rd. Whew...busy.

This year Greg and I decided we wanted to start a tradition of going to look at Christmas lights and drinking hot chocolate. So we made our hot chocolate and got all bundled up and set out to look at lights. There are not very many people in our neighborhood with lights so we drove to a few others and we were not impressed there either. By the way Jaelee did not like hot chocolate, what? how can she even be my daughter? Anyway, I had heard about this house where this guy had decorated every inch of his yard with lights and you could get out and walk around his drive way, so we headed downtown to find the house. It didn't take much to find it because there was a long line of traffic coming down the hill from the house. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the house. We found a pretty close parking spot, parked and walked around the house. It was amazing there were so many lights and people!  As we were headed home at 9 o'clock I realized that we hadn't had any dinner so we stopped at Arbys and had a quick bite to eat.  We went home and all crawled exhausted into our beds.

A few days later it was my birthday.  My mom came over and watched the kids so Greg and I could go out to dinner with a few of my friends.  We had a great time at dinner and it was nice to hang out with some of my friends.  After dinner we went home and had cake with my family.  Greg made a cake for me and he so kindly spelled out my age in candles.

After my birthday Christmas was quickly approaching and we hadn't taken the kids to see Santa.  We finally had time on Christmas Eve to go see him.  Of course we Greg and I both realize seeing Santa is for us because the twins could care less about it.  I had to get a photo of them with Santa though.  So we waited in line for 20 minutes and I told Greg that the kids would probably cry so he just needed to go get them to sit on Santa while I hurry and grab a picture.  Sounds easy huh?  Not so much when you have a little boy kicking and screaming and Santa telling you he is not aloud to sit on his lap while he is kicking.  Greg tried to get Jayse to stand by Santa and Jaelee was on his lap at one point but when she saw Jayse's reaction she wanted to get out of there.  I managed to get one photo.  I guess everyone has to have one of these right?

After the picture we headed out to my Aunts for the annual Christmas Eve party.  Somehow I managed to forget my camera.  We had a lot of fun great food and great company.

Christmas morning the twins woke up as usual.  Greg had put up all of our stockings and I had put out a few of their presents unwrapped so they looked pretty excited when they came into the living room.  We just lounged around the house until my family got here later and we opened up presents.  The twins didn't care to much about opening presents.  They liked what was inside once the opened them.  My mom made a delicious ham dinner and we just all sat around stuffed and watched the twins play.  My mom got them each little trikes and Jaelee an stroller and Jayse a shopping cart.  Jayse loved Jaelee's stroller and he pushed Jaelee in it for hours (she barely fit by the way) it was too cute.

For New Years Greg had to work so we didn't make any plans to go out.  I stayed home with the twins.  Greg surprised me by coming home early and we watched tv and relaxed later in the hot tub.

Greg's birthday was on the third and he just wanted to stay home and watch football and have a few people over (well he really wanted to go camping but it is just too darn cold he could not convince anyone to go).  My family came over, I made dinner and then we ate cake and ice cream.

OK that's it.  All caught up.  Hope you all had a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
