Mommy & Jaelee Evening

Jaelee and I got to have a girls night. Greg and Jayse went to a friends to watch football. I decided I wanted to enjoy a treat with her so we decided to make cookies so everyone could enjoy a treat. We went to the store and got all our ingredients. Before we started making the cookies we went on a walk. There is a canal down the road from us with this cute bridge and I wanted to walk down there and see it's photography location potential. The bridge turned out to be just ok but Jaelee loved being by the water and throwing in rocks. I had a great time watching her. We made it back to the house just before dark and got to work on our cookies. We made pumpkin chocolate chip (my favorite). She is such a good helper. She dumped all the ingredients, used the mixer and was the best taste tester.  While the cookies baked we watched the Little Mermaid.  It was a perfect night with my little girl.

Art in the Park & Family Photos

Sunday I went to the annual Art in the Park with one of my best friends and her little girl.  I took the twins and the stroller.  I was not about to let those to run around with all those people by myself.  We walked around and looked at all the crafts and art work.  I found some stuff I really liked and now have new ideas about some projects I want to do.  The twins were so well behaved.  They sat in their stroller and ate their little snakes and drank their little juice.  I let them out while we ate french fries and listened to some local music and they ran around like crazy people.  My sister, baby Jayden and her friend showed up later and we found a quiet little spot to let the kids run around at.  It was fun getting to hang out with the girls.  We don't do it often enough.
After Art in the Park we headed out to my moms to take family photos.  My brother is moving to Utah and Brandi is moving to Florida in June so I thought we better get some before everyone's gone cuz how knows when well all be together again.  We took the pictures at Celebration Park.  Here are a few and you can see more on my photography blog.
I love this one of Jaelee and my brother.  She looks like a little doll.

Labor Day Weekend - Monday

Monday we were sad that we had to head home we had so much fun.  Greg got up early and went salmon fishing with his dad and brother and when he got back we headed out on the road home.  I took a picture of the elk from the car as we drove by the elk viewing area.
We stopped in Salem to visit Greg's grandma, who sadly is now in an assisted living home due to Alzheimer's.  I am so glad I got to meet her a few years ago and talk to her.  My mom worked in a nursing home when I was younger so I knew what to expect but not Greg.  While we were visiting with his grandma there was another woman who took a fancy to him and kept rubbing him.  I know I shouldn't of but all I could do was laugh.  Greg's grandma looked like she was doing well but didn't talk much.  Our visit was short since we had a long road ahead of us.
We stopped at a Burger King and the twins loved the crowns.
Our next stop was in Hood River to visit his grandma's sister, Aunt Elaine.  She is such an amazing woman. She has the best memory.  She has lived in the same home for 74 years.  It is like a time capsule.  The home still has the original paneling on the walls and the metal keys in the doors.  I just love it.  I could of stayed there all day photographing her home.  The twins were a little rowdy from being in the car a lot of the day so I took them outside and took some pictures of them and some flowers.
We arrived home at 2 in the morning and had to work the next day but it was so worth the trip.  We had so much fun and I am so glad this year the weather rocked and we weren't sick (and make everyone else sick).  Thank you for the great weekend everyone!  And LaRee I am working on a CD of all my pictures for you.
